We Care: Four Seasons Kuwait

As the world fights Covid-19 and lockdown continuing around the world, thousands of workers were stranded. Many have lost their jobs, and thousands have lost their precious lives. With no assurance when the world will open its door for business, everyone is in constant fear. It’s regrettable and heartbreaking to see the number of deaths increasing day by day. With families far away from each other, and it’s not sure when one could meet their loved ones, this pandemic has created a panic attack on everyone.

Amid all the chaos, the Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait under the leadership of Mr. Didier stands strong and firm to its commitment to prioritize human resources besides everything else. Today, we all must agree with what some employees say during the post-September 11,

“You could have acted like everyone else and fired us. You didn’t. You stuck to what you’ve always said about people coming first. And your credibility in our eyes couldn’t be higher” (Pp.256 of Four Seasons- The Story of a Business Philosophy).

‘You will never go hungry if your father knows how to fish.’ The picture and quotes are very relevant during these hard times. Mr. Amir makes sure no one remains hungry.’

Mr. Amir, the Housing Manager of luxurious five-star staff accommodation, is making sure that every employee under his roof is protected from the pandemic. The management is also always keeping in touch with the stranded employees who are in the hotel due to sudden lockdown and Darna (A luxury five-star staff accommodation), and taking care of all the necessary needs during this crisis. It may be noted as the world started the ‘We care movement,’ FS Kuwait is also leading by example by showing the love and care for each other.

At Darna, the Happiness Innovation Team (HIT) has placed an appreciation board so members could write a note of gratitude to each other. It’s a Four Seasons’ way to show we care about and appreciate each other.

It’s overwhelming to see that Covid-19 has brought all of us together; the bond in us is more reliable than before. Managers who could not be with the team physically due to lockdown are sending a note of encouragement to the team and vice versa. It is overwhelming to see a letter from the Founder and Owner of Nosh, Ms. Tanya, who is the official food and beverage trainer for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

Darna has become more than ever a big family, everyone is caring for each other, and even a few leaders came out of their nest.
Since the lockdown of Darna, the hotel has become housing for other staff, creating a “home away from home” environment. Some of you are in your home country, taking care of your family, and others are at your home in Kuwait. But wherever you are, we are all linked by one thing, our care for each other. Whilst you can not control the uncertainties, I’m certain you can continue to care for each other.
